Psalms 61
This is David crying out to God. He is far from the temple, isolated and his heart is overwhelmed. He is asking God to lead him to a higher rock.
As we read this Psalm today we know that this is God speaking to us, His children. He reminds us that when we are overwhelmed we can ask Him to take us to a higher rock. The higher rock is Jesus.
Commit Psalm 61:2 to memory, have it ready in your heart so that you can speak it out when you feel overwhelmed. When the evil one comes to tell you that you are alone, weak, finished and isolated you can speak these powerful words, you can pray this powerful prayer:-
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psalm 61:2
Jesus is the higher rock.
