Psalms 63
Today we declare “God, you are my God, the God in whom we hope, trust and put our faith.”
This is what David does. He is in the wilderness and he gives us a beautiful lesson on what to do when we are in the wilderness, when we need God.
He tells us that we should seek the Lord!
David says that he will seek the Lord
- early in the morning and late at night (on his bed and in the night watches)
- From start to finish
- With his soul and his flesh
- With his body, mind, soul and strength!
He will seek the Lord with everything that he has.
And then he tells us that when he does this, his soul shall be satisfied and he will praise God with joyful lips.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips
Psalms 63:5
God will satisfy you!
The question today is whether you are satisfied? Maybe in this time of isolation God is asking whether we believe this, that God satisfies us, that God satisfies you.
What are you looking forward to when this is all over?
Maybe those are the things that have been satisfying you. But we must go to God and ask, “What do you want me to find here Lord?”, “Don’t let me miss what you want me to find here Lord”
Don’t let me leave this place the same person who arrived here. I will seek the Lord!
Seek the Lord. Seek Jesus!
Seek Jesus from early to late, with all of your heart and mind and soul and strength, with everything you have! He will satisfy you; He will be found. His lovingkindness is better than life!
That is an amazing promise. Seek Jesus.
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Psalm 63:3
May you be blessed today in Jesus name.
